John is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist with over 15 years experience and has a special interest in sports physio and in particular within triathlon and cycling circles. He holds a MSc in Physiotherapy and BSc in Nutritional Science.
John launched his physio bike fitting service under the brand “The BikeFit Physio” back in 2016 and it has grown in reputation and popularity every year since. The BikeFit Physio is close to hitting his 1500th bike fit landmark!
Services under this brand include:
- Physio bike fit
- Running gait analysis
- Cycling and running injury rehab
- Metabolic gas analysis testing
- Coaching
- Workshops on Adventure racing and Triathlon.
He has completed extensive training with GebioMized, who are world leaders in the area of bike fitting and pressure mapping and uses their saddle and foot pressure mapping technology to help steer his bike fit decisions with clients. John is currently a mentee to a Level 4 bike fitter through the International Bike Fitting Institute in their year-long mentorship programme.
John has worked with many triathlon and cycling clubs delivering talks on cycling performance and injury prevention. His sporting interests are staying competitive in the solo adventure racing circuit in Ireland and his new love for cyclocross.
Dr Nuno Gama
Sports Scientist & Bikefitter
Dr Nuno Gama has a doctorate (PhD) in Neurosciences with two honours degrees (1st class) in Sports Science and Engineering, and a Masters in Cognitive Neuroscience. He is the founder of the laboratory for advanced biomechanics, ORBIS Lab, previously located in the UK and now re-located back home to Portugal, to the picturesque Village of Cascais the location of the Portuguese IRONMAN triathlon. He is an expert in Bikefit and Biomechanics and in both animal and human electrophysiology.
Dr Nuno Gama has a wealth of experience supporting numerous Olympic and professional athletes, age groupers and recreational riders. He teaches biomechanics and fluid mechanics to coaches of the ITU (now World triathlon) is a published scientific author and actively conducts research studies in cycling biomechanics in an attempt to advance knowledge and clinical practice.
“Dr Nuno” rides a Fuji SL 1.1 which is curiously known to be a climbers’ bike (frame weight 740 g), however has a 120 mm head tube length. He is open, approachable, helpful and a dog lover.
Borut Fonda - M.Sc.
Borut is a renowned bike fitter, biomechanics consultant and the head of the absoluteBLACK science lab. He is a former cross-country mountain biker with now over 10 years in cycling biomechanics optimisation business.
He completed his undergrad degree in physical conditioning at the University of Ljubljana and masters study of exercise physiology at the University of Primorska. He has a doctoral degree from the University of Birmingham in the UK with a research focus in biomechanics, motor control and ergonomics during cycling.
He was the program director of S2P Cycling Science and a founder of a brand Forped - innovative force pedals that are still used only by the best cycling institutions around the globe. He designed the multiple times awarded patent – an adjustable seat post. Borut is also strongly present in the scientific community with many scientific and professional publications to his name on topics including motor control, biomechanics, recovery and ergonomics. He is a frequent invited speaker at the biggest sport science conferences and symposiums.
He worked or still works with several WT riders including Tadej Pogačar on his quest to winning 2 Grand Tours and several other cycling monuments.
JOSE PRIEGO QUESADA
Jose Ignacio Priego-Quesada is a professor at the Physical Education and Sports Department of the University of Valencia and researcher of the Sports Biomechanics Group (GIBD; https://gibd.blogs.uv.es/) and of the Medical Physics Group (GIFIME).
His research interests include cycling biomechanics and physiology assessment, the application of infrared thermography to medicine and sports, human thermophysiology, and running biomechanics.
Dr Geoffrey Millour
Sports Scientist & Bikefitter
Dr Geoffrey Millour is a former high-level cyclist (double French champion on track and member of the French road teams U17, U19 and U23).
Geoffrey is interested in factors related to performance in sport. After completing his Master 2 internship with the French Cycling Federation to prepare cyclists for the Rio Olympics, Geoffrey continued with a Ph.D. at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne in collaboration with the Morphologics company. The objective of his thesis was to optimize the position of cyclists and triathletes to improve performance and reduce the risk of injuries.
His postdoctoral fellowship was at the L-TIPS Laboratory of the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières, Canada. His goal was to improve cycling performance based on biomechanical, physiological and aerodynamic variables. His main project focused on the development of models to predict performance in cycling. Subsequently, he worked as an assistant professor at Nantes University where he accompanied the French pursuit teams to optimize their strategy for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Geoffrey is widely published in the area of bikefit and cycling performance. He is also a member of the scientific committee of the International Bike Fitting Institute (IBFI) and the coach of many high-level cyclists. He recently ranked 20th in the 2023 E-Cycling World Championship on Zwift.
